Some more background information on the lore of backrooms is that it was first created in 2019 from someone asking for a cursed image and another person replied with an empty yellow wallpaper office describing it as the backrooms. At first it was just a photo and then it turned into thousands of levels, entities, and lore. It’s based on liminal spaces, places that feel familiar like you’ve been there before but completely empty and eerie. The movie is gonna be based off of some of this lore for example, the setting for the backrooms in the movie is a yellow wallpaper with an empty office like in the original post.
