The number of students that are in AP classes In the Texas 2021-22 school year, a total of 321,876 students in all grades in Texas public and nonpublic schools took 577,350 AP exams. We’ve done an interview of Sachse students and what we found out is students much prefer DC classes, but why?
Students and teachers were asked if they preferred AP or DC and why, the majority said for DC classes mostly for the low stress and low work.
“Dc, you don’t have a big exam and have a better opportunity to make more friends.” – Said a senior.
A low percentage of students said AP classes and some teachers as well but had a bias because they themselves were AP teachers. The average student said you get a GPA boost.
“You get bragging rights.” Said one student.
AP classes prepare students for college, giving you a chance to try out for college credit. On the other hand, DC classes are more of a “13th” grade and give you college credit as long as you pass the class.
