Bad Bunny headlined at the Superbowl halftime show for the game with The Seattle Seahawks against The New England Patriots. Apple music is the official sponsor of the halftime performance. When Bad Bunny’s performance was first announced by the NFL, there was a lot of controversy around the performance. Some people have asked the FCC to investigate the performance because of his “inappropriate” lines. There were not a lot of people who liked the idea of Bad Bunny performing at the halftime performance due to where he originates from and tried making a 2nd Superbowl for people to watch instead of Bad Bunny’s. This halftime show did not take place. The 13 minute performance consisted of lots of surprises.

The performance begins with big letters, “Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio Presenta, El espectáculo de medio tiempo del Super Tazón.” Bad Bunny’s performance consisted of a tropical set with sugarcane and large trees. Bad bunny is in the middle of the background dancers working and harvesting the sugar cane. In the beginning of Spanish colonies, Sugar cane was used as the main profit of Puerto Rico. The outfit we see Bad Bunny perform for the halftime performance is an all white outfit, a collared shirt, a football jersey with the numbers 64 and his name Ocasio.
The show featured many symbols of Puerto Rican history and culture, as well as gestures to the broader Latino community, and a strong reframing of U.S. notions of what it means to be American. He began the performance with Tití Me preguntó. A Popular song that has made it 5th Americas hottest songs.

The Halftime performance ends with the song “Debi mas Fotos” and saying God bless America. Not just the United states, but multiple hispanic countries. The whole performance is about peace and love, due to the new political events some people in the hispanic community have been treated with disrespect. Bad Bunny’s performance showed respect and love and it doesn’t matter who you are while celebrating Puerto rican culture.
