Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Delantic, was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint by Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, who’s real name is Lontrell Denell in Dallas, Texas on January 10, 2026. The altercation allegedly was caused over a disagreement over a contract that Pooh Shiesty had with Gucci Mane’s record label. The kidnapping was under the disguise of a meeting where Pooh Shiesty and seven other accomplices held Gucci Mane and two other victims at gunpoint.
“I thought this was a business meeting, but it was a set up,” states a line from Gucci Mane’s new song regarding the incident.
Gucci was held at gunpoint at a music studio in Dallas parkway by Pooh Shistsy and rapper Big30 where they stole money and jewelry and forced Gucci Mane and the two other music executives to sign a contract terminating Pooh Shiesty’s previous contract with the 1017 music label as Big30 was barricading the door. Pooh Shistey wanted to terminate the contract because he allegedly was wanting to move to CMG and was unhappy with the terms and management of the 1017 contract.
Gucci Mane’s song Crash Dummy, continues to address this incident in the line, “Dapped me up, the whole time they were plotting against me.”
The kidnapping all started in April 2020 when rapper Pooh Shiesty signed onto Gucci Mane’s 1017 record label. Pooh Shiesty’s music career later hit a dead end when in April 2022 he was sentenced 5 years in prison for an armed robbery. Later after his release he wanted his contact with the 1017 record label terminated.
“To all the ones who counted me down and not out, the support and love I received on this roller coaster is unmatched.”- Pooh Shiesty’s response to 2022 arrest.
In April 2026, a Dallas judge ruled that Pooh Shiesty will remain in custody for now but Pooh Shistey’s lawyers had stated that the court does not have enough evidence in the case. On April 2, Gucci Mane released a diss track called Crash Dummy regarding the allegations of the kidnapping. Pooh Shiesty has yet to release a public statement on the diss track. Others like Miami rapper Lil Pump real name Gazzy Garcia have posted an instagram story blazing Gucci Mane and called him a “Bozo” for snitching on Pooh Shiesty.
