Have you ever thought about school without the use of AI? Nearly all teachers and students across the whole country use some sort of Artificial Intelligence when it comes to lesson plans and assignments to AI detectors. I believe that AI should not be used in schools.

Students cannot challenge themselves if they always use AI. Students need to challenge their brain and practice so they can mature it. AI can potentially dull their minds and thinking abilities. Kids now don’t even think to try to do their homework and instead run it through ChatGPT or other AI platforms.

Later on in the future, students could also not know what to do without AI. If students take a test, they could possibly fail it because they never did their homework or assignments. Now if finals came they would always try to cram up the subject and try to remember what they read through the night before. Which this doesn’t necessarily work all the time.

Not only students, but also teachers are really getting affected by this too. Teachers would see their student’s work and if it is “too good”, and would assume they used AI. This can really destroy students because they could be falsely accused of cheating when they just probably know niche punctuation. Just like how m-dashes are not really common in human writing in schools anymore. This can also be because teachers don’t know or cannot trust anything knowing a lot of students use AI.

Some might say that AI can also be a great tool like a study guide for school other than using it for a short cut. The thing is that there are other possible ways to study, like a friend. Having a study group with friends could be a very effective way of studying. AI is mostly used for shortcuts and isn’t right. I believe that students use AI as a shortcut to school and isn’t going to help them in the long run.
