More than 1800 cans collected for food drive

NHS members, senior representative Hoang Do, junior Noor Damrah, president senior Diana Dominguez and senior Allison Pham rest after counting the the donated food from the canned food drive. The canned food drive trophy, which was added to the contest this year, is perched in the middle of the boxes of food.

After a month of collecting canned food for the annual GISD food drive, the results are in with more than 1800 cans of food donated.  The SHS drive was coordinated by the National Honor Society.  

To make things a little more competitive this year, organizations registered to compete in bringing the most cans.  NHS created a trophy for the winning organization to go along with bragging rights.

AVID placed 3rd with 222 cans.

Baseball placed 2nd with 280 cans.

NHS placed 1st and  won their own trophy with 650 cans.
