One year after Sachse’s girls soccer team lost 2-1 to Rockwall in an anticipating game during the third round of the playoffs, the Lady Mustang soccer team made up for their loss, with an astounding victory that leads them to the Region II-6A Division 1 final – set to start Tuesday, April 1st 2025.
Sachse got the game-winning goal from senior player, Raeya Carthon in the division’s semifinals during the third round for the 2nd consecutive season. The Lady Mustangs took the victory with a score of 3-2 over Klein Oak at Tomato Field in Jacksonville, March 28th.
Due to this win, Sachse heads to The Woodlands in the region II – 6A division final, marking the Lady Mustangs first appearance in the 4th round since 2017 – a shocking 8 years ago!
“We haven’t been this far in a really long time.” exclaimed Kristen Campbell, Sachse High School’s head coach. “It’s amazing what this team has accomplished. From the beginning of the year until now, we’ve grown so much. I’m just really proud of them.”
The lady mustangs have gained popularity for their impressive teamwork, strong defense, and a furious attack – with the team displaying a sense of determination and willingness to win the final against The Woodlands.
The II-6A Division 1 takes place Tuesday April 1st, 2025 at 5:00 PM with a thrilling showdown against rival schools. Students are encouraged to display their support by attending the game and encouraging their team as they fight to bring a long awaited regional victory.
