Los Angeles Wildfire
The Palisades Fire, also known as the California wildfire, erupted the morning of January 7, 2025, the fire was located in the Los Angeles neighborhood east of Malibu as a bush fire. A little more information about the fire is that the blaze grew to 23,448 acres before it was declared 100% contained on Friday.The Palisades killed at least 29 people, including some who died trying to prevent the fire from trying to save their homes, and destroying thousands of structures. According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire. It was said that the fire had damaged or destroyed more that 6,800 structures. Not only that but the Palisade fire lasted 24 days, from January 7 – January 31, 2025, it first started in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles county which largely grew into the areas of Pacific Palisades, Topanga and Malibu before it was fully contained.
What caused this fire you might ask? A group of Palisades fire victims allege that an energized LADWP electrical tower. Some news have said that downed municipal power lines may have caused LA´s Palisades Fire. Everyone has their own opinion on how the fire started, some say utility equipment, arson, fireworks, and natural causes like dry conditions and strong winds since at that time in California it was pretty hot, however investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the fire.
How many people had to leave their houses due to the wildfire? Not just a home but an entire neighborhood and communities were affected by the wildfire in southern California. The impact of the fire was brutal, at least 29 people were killed due the wildfire however the death polls has risen to 30 after human remains were found in a burned lot in Altadena., but nearly 180,000 people were told to evacuate their homes, even their communities.
However the investigation into the cause of the Palisades Fire, which nevertheless the fire remains under investigation. Although there are many theories on why the fire was caused, they have come to a conclusion of two primary theories. These two primary theories are due to previous wildfires they had in southern California and it could be something to what caused previous fires, the other theory about the wildfire cause is potentially caused by human activity that was happening in the area where the fire first occurred.
