The Inheritance Games
By Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Avery Gramb’s life was flipped upside down when one meeting with her principal informed her that she had just inherited the entire fortune of billionaire Tobias Hawthorne. This may sound pleasant but, the only catch, she has to stay in his giant mansion along with secret passageways, riddles, and the disinherited family of the dead billionaire.
While reading, there were a lot of questions circling my mind such as why did this billionaire randomly choose her to inherit his fortune? How does he know her? Why would he disinherit his family for a complete stranger? And so many more. But these books do such a good job at piecing it together and making the story make sense. Plus on top of that, every book introduces new mysteries while solving others. There are endless mysteries and so many plot twists that keep you on your toes through the whole book.
There are now three sequels to this book including The Hawthorne Legacy, The Final Gambit, and The Brothers Hawthorne. There is also a new book coming out for the series called The Grandest Game. This book is scheduled to come out sometime in 2024.
Because the series is a mystery, there are questions that are answered and there are even more questions being raised such as when you think that you have figured out who the romantic partner is, there is a new choice, and ultimately why is Avery Grambs putting up with the family?
If these books catch your attention, Jennifer Lynn Barnes has a few other book series like The Naturals, The Debutantes, and The Lovely and the Lost.
