The varsity volleyball team has dominated in district play since 2015 with district championships, and they are currently ranked 23rd in the state.

“These kids have such great attitudes, skills and motivation,” said varsity head coach Rikki Jones.  “They believe in teamwork and trust one another. All of this translates to success on the court.”

The Mustangs are currently undefeated (6-0) in the district. They hope this momentum will continue into the season.

“I’d say the recipe for success this early in the season has been hard work and game planning,” Jones said.

In preparation for district play the Lady Mustangs competed in several tournaments over the summer and at the beginning of the school year. This long preseason puts them in position to dominate district and return to the playoffs.

“Playing in competitive tournaments, as wells as club with top notch athletes, was preparation for our team’s early success and promising future for this year,” said senior middle hitter Alicia Hearn.  “Long hours of grinding in open gym with no AC sure does get you right.”
